Euan Ferguson is a forester and fire emergency manager with over 40 years experience in forestry, fire and fuels risk management, community engagement and emergency management leadership.

Euan is highly sought after to provide executive emergency and risk management advice.

In November 2015 Euan retired after 5 years as Chief Officer with the Victorian Country Fire Authority (CFA). Previously, Euan held the role of Chief Officer and CEO of the South Australian Country Fire Service for 9 years. Prior to that, Euan held a range of field fire and forestry roles with CFA and with the public land management agency in Victoria.

Euan has a Diploma and Honours Degree in Forest Science, a Masters of Business Administration and a Cert IV in Training and Assessment. In the 1980’s, Euan was an officer in the Army Reserve, serving with 91 Forestry Squadron.

Euan has held a number of key appointments, including past Chair and member of the Board of the National Aerial Firefighting Centre (NAFC); past Chair and member of the Board of the Australasian Fire and Emergency Services Authorities Council (AFAC).

Euan is:

• the Chair of the North Central Catchment Management Authority;

• a Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration, Australia;

• a member of Forestry of Australia (the national body representing professional foresters in Australia);

• a member of Forestry Australia’s Forest Fire Management Committee and its Registered Forestry Professional Committee;

• a Registered Practicing Forester certified by the Forestry Australia;

• a former member of the Board (and Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee) of the the North East Catchment Management Authority;

• a member (and former Vice President) of the International Association of Wildland Fire;

• a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors;

• a former member of the CFA Board Honours, Awards and Remembrance Committee.

• Euan is also a volunteer firefighter with the Woosang CFA Fire Brigade.

Since the company was formed in 2015 it has provided high level advice to executives and boards of a range of government and non-government agencies, national and international corporate and public organisations.
